<description>"Bring Me Your Tired, Your Poor, Your Huddled Masses" - The Statue of Liberty - apparently a message for European immigrants only...

The veiled issue here is that more and more MEXICANS coming into our country without offical knowledge, and we are worried about that.

In regard to Mexicans, the vast majority of them coming across the border are not coming to add burden to our infrastruture. They are coming for the opportunity to WORK. That is the American dream, right? That a person can come here with nothing and work hard and obtain something.

So, yes, indeed we would have to share our resources (for our 10 or 100 cousins), but don't forget that they will WORK for these resources. This is no different that any other ethnic group that has voluntarily come to America. Upon arrival they are low on the totem pole and are only given the most menial of jobs to do. This is nothing new.

This country was built by immigrants. By today's standards, most historical immigration would have been considered illegal immigration.

Simply put, if you have a job, a residence, pay taxes, and are contributing to our economy it's hard (for me) to say you're 'illegal'. Even if you are not and/or don't want to be a citizen, you should at least be considered a 'legal' immigrant.

You are illegal if you have been deported from this country and told not to return. You are illegal if you have forged any part of the paperwork used to obtain work or residence once you get here. You are illegal if you are considered a criminal in your country of origin. You should not be illegal if you are coming here tired, poor, or huddled together, as many illegal Mexican immigrants are...</description>
